Sunbeam 6-Pot Pressure Cooker Recall
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Sunbeam 6-pot multi-cookers have been recalled due to a manufacturer’s defect. This defect can cause the pressure cooker to pressurize when the lid is not fully locked, which may lead to serious injury or death if the lid suddenly detaches when the product is in use.
Affected appliances include Crock-Pot 6-Quart Express Crock Multi-Cookers, Model Number SCCPPC600-V1 manufactured between July 1, 2017 and October 1, 2018. Date codes referenced K196JN through K365JN and L001JN through L273JN can be located on the base of the unit and on the electrical plug. These faulty devices were sold between July 2017 through November 2020 at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Bed Bath and Beyond, other nationwide retailers. They were also sold through that time period online at Amazon, as well as other online retailers.
Over 100 people have already reported the lid detaching while food was being pressurized. Many of those also reported burns and other injuries as a result of using the defective pressure cooker.
